Disclosures

  • Coaching may result in change in your relationships as well as healthy changes in the types of relationships you form.

  • Google Meet is not HIPPA compliant and, therefore we cannot guarantee, with 100% certainty, that information shared through Zoom will be safe from a data breach.

  • Sessions will not be recorded unless otherwise specified. In the event that a session will be recorded, you will be notified prior to the session.

  • What you share during our session and documentation of any kind will be held confidential. The only time I will break confidentiality is if I feel you are in danger of harming yourself or another person, or if I receive a legal subpoena to release your records.

  • As a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach, I act as a Mandatory Reporter, as outlined by The International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching. This means that if I become aware that a minor, disabled person or elderly person is currently being abused I am mandated to report the abuse to the appropriate governing agency.

  • Escalation protocol – If you are in a crisis, please call emergency services. If you are also working with a psychotherapist, please contact them as well. Keep me informed by emailing support@satoyafoster.com. At your intake session, you will be provided with a list of resources to support you and your goals.

Expectations

What you can expect from me:

  • You can expect me to be on time for appointments and during our sessions to be 100% focused on our time together.

  • You can expect me to be knowledgeable about trauma and up to date on the latest research about trauma.

  • You can expect me to be your peer and guide through our time together. I know trauma but you know yourself. I will honor that you can guide your recovery. I will bring tools and strategies to our work to support your goals.

My expectations of you:

  • Please come to sessions with curiosity and a willingness to work on your recovery practice and that your focus will be on our work for the entirety of our session.

  • Please let me know if you feel triggered during a session.

  • Please let me know if there is something you need from me for our work together to help you meet your recovery goals.

Policies and Procedures

Payment – Payments will be made through your client portal prior to your session. You may use a debit or credit card to make your payment. If you

Crisis response – your client needs to know who to contact if they are in crisis. Define what crisis is for you: suicidal ideation, suicidal plans, extreme emotional distress. Spell this policy out very clearly.

Communication outside of sessions – If you’d like to contact me for any reason outside of sessions, please send an email to support@satoyafoster.com. I will get back to you within 48 hours (typically sooner).

Cancellation – Life happens. In the event that you need to cancel your session, please let me know via email at least 24 hours prior to your session time. Failure to do so may result in a charge of your full session fee.

No Shows – Your scheduled session is a mutual commitment to support your work toward your goals. For no-shows, you will be charged the full session fee with no ability to make up the session.

Alcohol and drugs – You must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during your sessions (taking their prescribed meds are fine and one glass of wine is fine, too). Additionally, please do not bring alcohol or drugs to your sessions.

Bringing a third person into sessions – Your scheduled session is a commitment for me to show up for you as you work toward your goals. Please do not bring additional people to your scheduled session(s).

Cell phone usage – Please mute your cell phone during your scheduled session. If you have extenuating circumstances that you may need to attend to, please let me know prior to your scheduled session. 

Policy Violation protocol – Violation of this policy will result in the nullification of any agreements.

Grievance Procedure

I am required to let you know that I am a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach™ credentialed by The International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching. As part of my certification I am bound to uphold the Association’s Code of Ethics. 

If at any time you feel I have failed to abide by the Association’s Code of Ethics or wronged you in another way you are welcome to contact Sarah Parish, TICC, CTRC-A (SarahParishCoaching@gmail.com) who is the Chairperson of the Association’s Professional Standards Committee. She can send you a grievance form to complete and submit, as well as let you know the process that will take place after she receives your grievance. All reports and grievance actions are held confidential by the Professional Standards Committee.
